Music started, the bridesmaids lined up, and Holly(maid of honour) reached back to grab the bride’s hand to make sure she was ready to go. After everyone was to the front, the father of the bride looked at her and asked “Are you ready?”. Not being able to speak, a simple nod was all that was needed. The lights were low, candles lit, and there he was…at the front of the hall with tears in his eyes-her groom. The ceremony started and they began the biggest adventure ever-marriage!
I did it, I got married! June 18th, 2016 was the day that I married my best friend and the man of my dreams. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony. My bridesmaids all looked amazing as did my step-daughter, Ava in their beautiful dresses. Getting ready was chaotic near the end, when the hair dresser, Kathrine, and makeup artist, Darby, ended up both working on myself at the same time to allow for more time getting into my dress.
Formals were done at Germain Park in Sarnia, ON. It was beautiful, green and quiet. Family formals were completed relatively quickly and that’s all with great thanks to my best friend, Angela Sundby of Angela Sundby Photographer, whom was great in getting our pictures done so family members could go back to the hall to get out of the sun. Bridal party portraits were extremely fun and our party was super energetic. By the time formals were done we were exhausted, thirsty and starving! Eclipse Catering Bar & Grill served an amazing buffet style dinner and the food was delicious! We ran through speeches relatively quick and before I knew it we were dancing away.
The night was over before I knew it, and there’s so many things that I wish I could have paused and took in, or had a certain picture, or danced with a certain person. I always tell my bride’s to take two moments during your day to remember and to take it all in. I am already missing bits and pieces from the day. So my dearest brides, when I work with you on your wedding day, I will make sure that you take those two moments to stop, breathe and take it all in.
I am now Mrs. Maygin Evans and I am super excited to have started this journey with my best friend.
